Email Storage
FRWS is not responsible for email left (stored) on the mail server(s). As of the date
of this posting, FRWS expires all mail that is left on the server over 45 days to reduce
the space required to serve mail to our customers and to reduce the time it takes to retrieve
email. This could change to 30 days at some point in the future, but at this time we see no
reason to do this. Customers will be notified if we change this policy. If you have your
email client set to "Leave mail on the server" be aware that it will be purged periodically and
all emails older than the email expiration time (currently 45 days) will be deleted.
NOTE: FRWS does not archive or backup old email or stored email directories as a normal
course of doing business, do not count on FRWS having copies of mail you have already
downloaded, or those you have left stored on the server. We do have your current, unretrieved
email stored and safe, but once you have retrieved it - it is gone and we can no longer get it
for you. The one exception is that email stored in Webmail folders does get backed up when the
webserver backs up its directories and content.

Mailbox Sizes
FRWS does not regulate mailbox sizes. However, if you use POP3 for your email (most clients that
do not use webmail use POP3) you should not let your mailbox grow over 30-50MB. Mailboxes over this
size take a long time to download, check and are prone to corruption problems - particularly if you use a
dialup account.
Mailboxes over 75MB in size will be purged automatically if they remain this large for longer than
7 days. Please see the above policy on purging old email for more information.
